Our school

Springfield Sports Academy is a tuition-free public charter school serving students in kindergarten (including early entry) through 7th grade in Springfield, Ohio. The State of Ohio rates every public school. In the most recent ratings cycle, Springfield Sports Academy earned a 4-Star Gap Closing rating, the highest available in that category, meaning this school is actively closing the gap between its highest- and lowest-performing students.

Your child’s school day here is built around sports. Athletics aren’t treated as an after-school bonus or a reward for finishing homework. They’re woven into how students learn and how the school day is structured. Team-based thinking, physical discipline, and the habits that come from competing — showing up, adjusting after a loss, supporting teammates — are built into the academic experience on purpose. They aren’t enrichment extras. They’re the method.

It’s a publicly funded school. There’s no tuition, no fees, and no cost to families.

• Free breakfast and lunch for enrolled students
• Free transportation for eligible students in the Springfield area
